The following two pages are the four questions of the midterm
exam, as they were presented to the students in class.

You have one hour and fifteen minutes to complete the exam.

Each question describes a lisp function.  You should write
a lisp program to compute that function.

You may use either internal or external notation to write your 
solutions.

The exam is open book, you may use any materials you wish.

Questions one and two are relatively easy.  Question 3 is 
believed to be the most difficult.
